The finding
How many AI agent websites are still up
Every outbound link in this directory is checked and dated. In the audit of August 13, 2026, 51 of 530 product websites answered with a permanent failure — a 404, a 410, or a server error that persisted across the run — and those listings were deleted rather than left in place with a disabled link. Of the 479 that remain, 94% answered normally and 29 could not be judged either way. Bot walls and timeouts are never treated as proof that a product is dead.

The shape of the market
Listings by primary category
Each listing carries exactly one primary category, so these shares describe the whole directory.
Method
Where these numbers come from
Counts come from the directory’s live records. Availability comes from an automated audit of every listed website, last run on ; only an explicit permanent failure counts as unavailable, and a listing that returns one is removed and its URL redirected to its category. The full policy is on the methodology page. To cite a figure, link this page — it recomputes as the directory changes, so a quoted number carries its own correction mechanism.
